JL Speed: the methodology behind faster athletes

JL Speed is the system Coach Jafar built over 30 years of coaching. It blends mechanics, force, and progression into a repeatable path to real speed.

JL Speed: the methodology behind faster athletes

A system, not a workout

JL Speed isn't a random list of drills. It is a progression that builds an athlete from the ground up: posture, acceleration mechanics, top-end speed, and the ability to repeat it under fatigue.

Every phase has a purpose and feeds the next. Athletes always know where they are and what they are building toward.

The three layers

First, we teach the athlete to produce force in the right direction. Second, we develop the mechanics that turn that force into stride length and frequency. Third, we make it sport-specific so it shows up in games, not just on the track.

Built in 4-week blocks

We program in 4-week blocks so families know exactly what they are signing up for and athletes get enough time to actually adapt and improve.

Each block ends with a re-check so the progress is measurable and the next block is built on real data.

Key takeaways

  • JL Speed is a progression, not a pile of drills.
  • Force, mechanics, and sport-specific transfer are trained in order.
  • Programming runs in clear 4-week blocks with built-in re-checks.

Every athlete starts with a movement assessment, then trains on a plan built around their goals.
